In ways I do not understand, I find that truth often reveals great anger. Truth that challenges preconceptions seems to reveal the greatest anger. Often the anger already exists, but the truth results in bringing the anger out for all to see. During the Civil Rights struggles of the 1960’s, the truth revealed tremendous anger throughout the South, especially in my current home state of Alabama. More recently, the truth that some people are attracted to the same sex has revealed tremendous anger in so many.
The effects of the truth can also been seen in human relationships. A simple truth can cause long held anger to be revealed in ways that were never expected. Once a relationship has been confronted with a truth, no amount of negotiating seems to help. There is no compromise, there is no middle ground.
The truth faces us, either to be accepted or rejected.
