This morning we visited wonderful friends at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Life has been challenging at this church. The city has changed as farming and manufacturing jobs have all left. The young have moved away to larger cities. Yet, a small group of 10 families remain. Working together with other churches and groups, this small group is still wonderfully serving the community by feeding the hungry, helping the homeless, and serving those in jail. In fact, half of those at service this morning were on release from the local jail.
In this small group of Christians this morning, I could see the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit hasn’t given up on this church.
